How to Make these Air Fryer Carrot Fries:

These fries are very simple! Toss carrot strips (julienned) in a mixing bowl with the oil, garlic, and fresh rosemary—salt and pepper to taste. Set the Air Fryer or Instant Pot attachment to air fry mode (400 degrees Fahrenheit) and cook for 12 minutes, or until crispy. Add 2 minutes at a time for more cooking until it reaches your desired level of crispness. When ready plate the fries and top with shredded parmesan cheese and additional rosemary (optional). Salt and pepper to taste.

Pair these tasty fries with your favorite dipping sauce, such as aioli with fresh dill, ketchup, and ranch!

Variations:

These fries are naturally gluten-free!

Want to make them vegan? Substitute dairy-free cheese for the parmesan cheese. I like the Treeline Cheese brand!

Don't have carrots? Use parsnips, sweet potatoes, or other delicious root vegetables!

Rosemary can be substituted with other delicious herbs such as dill, parsley, and thyme.

Carrot fries made in the air fryer paired with fresh rosemary and parmesan cheese! These air fryer carrot fries perfectly pair with your favorite grill item as a healthy side dish!

  • Author: Katie Pfeffer MS, RD
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 12
  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x
  • Category: Side Dish
  • Method: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: American
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Ingredients

Scale

4-6 large carrots, peeled and julienned (see Notes 1)

2-3 tablespoons oil (I used avocado oil)

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Toss the carrots with oil, garlic, and rosemary in a large bowl. Set aside.

Set the Air Fryer or Instant Pot attachment to air fry mode (400 degrees Fahrenheit) and cook for 12 minutes, or until crispy (see Notes 2). Add an additional 2 minutes until it reaches your desired level of crispness. When ready plate the carrot fries and top with shredded parmesan cheese and additional rosemary (optional).

Notes

1. Have any carrot stems left from prepping? Save them for a tasty pesto!

2. Don't have an air fryer? No problem! Cook for 25-30 minutes or until crispy on a baking sheet at 400 degrees Fahrenheit in the oven.
