How to Make it:

I'm not sure if this recipe could be any easier! It includes just one step to make the marinade. Blend all the ingredients in a food processor and salt and pepper to taste.

Use this recipe as a citrus salad dressing and top it on vegetables or leafy greens. Or as a marinade on your favorite proteins (see below).

To marinade, the times may vary. For tofu, it can range from half an hour to 2 hours. For meats, it can be almost 2 hours depending on the portion, and for seafood, mostly a half hour.

Serious Eats has an excellent article on the marinating basics.

How to Store it:

Store the citrus dressing in an airtight container for up to 5 days. You can also freeze the marinade in an airtight container or sealed bag for up to 3 months.

Variations:

This recipe is naturally gluten-free and vegetarian! If gluten-sensitive, please double-check the labeling on your honey depending on the manufacturing there could be a risk for cross-contamination with gluten.

For a vegan modification, substitute maple syrup or your other favorite vegan sweetener for the honey.

Are you watching your sugar intake? Feel free to use your favorite sugar substitutes, like monk fruit, or other sugar-free versions!

No fresh herbs on hand? You can substitute dried herbs for the fresh version. Per the Spruce Eats, fresh-to-dried herb formula is 1 teaspoon of dried herbs for every 1 tablespoon of fresh herbs. For a recipe using fresh herbs, reduce the amount by ⅓ for the dried herb substitute.

Have lots of other fresh herbs on hand? You can easily substitute with fresh rosemary, oregano, thyme, and basil! Adjust the amount per your desired taste. Different herbs have different potencies.

I hope you get to make lots of use of this tasty citrus dressing! Whether on a salad as a citrus salad dressing or marinade for tofu or shrimp! Wishing you a healthy and happy summer season!
