How To Make It:

This recipe is super easy! You'll need two mixing bowls, one for the dry ingredients and a larger bowl for the wet ingredients. For the wet ingredients, including the brown sugar, whisk everything together by hand using a whisk (or use a handheld mixer). Set this aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, stir the dry ingredients to combine. Transfer this mixture to the wet ingredients and mix, and try not to overmix the batter. Lastly, fold in those delicious chocolate chips. The batter is then ready for baking!

Pour the batter into the baking dish that was set aside (lined with parchment paper or greased). The batter should be evenly spread. Place in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center is cooked. A toothpick or knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

How to Store It:

Keep these bars in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. For freezing, 1-3 months in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag.

Variations:

For a vegan option, substitute a liquid vegan egg replacer for the egg and vegan butter or coconut oil for the butter.

For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour in place of all-purpose flour and double-check all your baking ingredients, such as the brown sugar, to ensure they are not contaminated with gluten during processing.
