Air Fryer Baked Apples are the perfect fall dessert! These air fryer apples with tasty flavors of cinnamon, brown sugar, and oats can be ready in 20 minutes or less!

Ingredients

Scale

3 medium apples, halved and cored (see Notes 1)

3 tablespoons melted butter, unsalted (reserve 1 tablespoon)

1/2 cup rolled oats

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 cup chopped pecans, unsalted

Salt to taste

Instructions

Spread the apple halves cut-side up on a cutting board or baking sheet. Brush the reserved melted butter on the apples. Set aside.

In a small mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients to make the oat mixture, and stir to combine. Scoop the oat mixture onto the apples and divide evenly.

Transfer the apples and oat mixture carefully into the air fryer basket with the skin side down (see Notes 3 & 4).  Close the lid and set the air fryer to bake mode at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes. The apples should be soft and able to be pierced with a fork or knife.

Serve with your favorite toppings, such as yogurt, ice cream, or nut butter!

Notes

  1. To core the apples use a corer or a large metal spoon to scoop out the seeds and core.
  2.  To make this vegan, use coconut oil or a vegan butter alternative.
  3.  Depending on your air fryer type, you may need to cook the apples in two batches, filling just the bottom of the basket with the apple halves.
  4. If you don't have an air fryer, bake on a baking sheet or in an oven-safe dish at 350 degrees Farhenheit for 40-45 minutes, or until softened.
